Sarah Wallace makes whimsical objects of adornment to bring comfort and joy to those that wear them. She uses plastics, metals, and wood in a variety of processes. Her concepts range from  lighthearted and whimsical, like her Gremlin Bells and OctoPlate, to more controversial, like calling out White Culture in her Color Culture series. As a coping mechanism to manage her anxiety and depression, she spends time hiking and exploring Maryland and National Parks, learning the plants, insects, birds, fungi and their roles in the ecosystem. She likes to include what she has learned as motifs in her work.
